PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – According to Jason Day, every player on Tour has an uncomfortable club in the bag.
“We just don’t talk about it,” Day said Tuesday at TPC Sawgrass. “I’m OK with talking about it.”
The world No. 1’s least favorite club is 3-wood. Sure, he can carry it 285 yards with the greatest of ease, but he also tends to overcook a draw with it on occasion.
“Ever since I was a kid…” he said.
Day said that he could be tempted to hit 3-wood off the tee between 4-7 times per round depending on wind conditions and various other factors.
