Davies shrugs off recent missteps, focuses on 35th Women’s British Open

TURNBERRY, Scotland – Laura Davies began her week as caddie for friend Becky Brewerton in the final qualifier for the Ricoh Women’s British Open. The two Brits were paired together over the weekend in the Ladies Scottish Open, and while waiting on the 14th tee Sunday, Davies asked Brewerton who would be on the bag for her Monday.

Brewerton said she hadn’t yet found a caddie, so Davies offered her services. The weather was fairly miserable on Monday and Brewerton double-bogeyed the 14th, missing out on a chance to tackle Trump Turnberry this week.

“I was doing nothing on Monday, and it seemed like a good idea,” Davies said.
