David Toms refused to fade away Saturday at the Barracuda Championship, playing into contention in Round 3 with hopes of taking his first win since 2011.
Toms, who played his first full season on the Tour the year Patrick Rodgers – who is in fifth with 35 points – was born, secured 18 points in the third round at Montreux Golf and Country Club in Reno, Nev. The 15-time PGA Tour winner reached 40 points for the week in the Modified Stableford format, one off of 54-hole leader J.J. Henry.
