Dustin Johnson withdrew from the PGA Tour’s FedEx St. Jude Classic on Thursday, citing an illness.
Johnson, a popular pick to win this week at TPC Southwind, bogeyed his first three holes and turned in 38 before pulling out of the event.
The 2012 winner in Memphis, Johnson was coming off back-to-back top-15 finishes.
This WD is not expected to affect his status for next week’s U.S. Open.
