Curran hones game at Bear's Club, hoping for U.S. Open berth

Coming off of a solid performance at the AT&T Byron Nelson, Jon Curran is not entered into this week’s Memorial, but that doesn’t mean he’ll not be busy playing a Jack Nicklaus golf course. Fact is, Curran will be honing his game at his home course, The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Fla., in preparation for next Monday’s U.S. Open qualifier.

Curran and Luke Donald, another Bear’s Club member, will be among 70 contenders teeing it up for a chance to get into the major show at Chambers Bay. Likely just two or three spots will go to the field at The Bear’s Club, as opposed to the healthy pile given to the deeper and richer groups at nearby Tour stops in Columbus, Ohio, and Memphis, Tenn.
