ORLANDO, Fla. – Juli Inkster settled on Paula Creamer as a captain’s pick over a glass of wine last Saturday in Canada.
“I just saw something in her eyes that I liked,” said Inkster at Golf Channel’s studios, moments after she revealed Creamer and Brittany Lang as her two captain’s picks for the 2015 Solheim Cup.
Inkster’s decision on Creamer was going to be controversial either way. Some fans can’t understand why Inkster would pick a slumping player for a team that’s considered the underdog in Germany. Others can’t imagine a Solheim Cup team without her.
Inkster went with her gut, joking that Creamer is lucky she’s not a numbers person, given her recent results (three missed cuts).
