Paula Creamer’s sizzling finish moved her into a seven-way tie for the lead Thursday at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic in the LPGA’s season opener.

Creamer birdied her 15th and 16th holes and eagled the 17th to shoot a 5-under-par 68.

It’s her first lead after any round of an LPGA event since the first round of the Kia Classic nearly two years ago. Creamer won the HSBC Champions early in 2014, the last of her 10 LPGA titles. A major champion and six-time U.S. Solheim Cup team member, Creamer has battled through some swing changes and equipment issues much of the last two seasons.
