FENWICK, Ontario — Cougar Collins picked the right time to hit his stride at this week’s Golfweek Canadian Junior Invitational at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club. With the Ontario Junior looming ahead, the Caledon, Ontario resident was hoping to bring his game in order and carry some momentum with him.
All he did was post a personal tournament-best 67 in the opening round then matched it in the final round’s windier conditions to run away from the field with a seven-shot victory.
“I have a big week next week and wanted to go into that with a real good tournament here, and I did,” said Collins, who left little doubt of his dominance this week by finishing the event with three straight birdies.
