Brooke Henderson’s upcoming schedule won’t look much different than any other young stars on the LPGA. The 17-year-old will play in five of the next six LPGA tournaments, including two major championships.
The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship announced May 11 that Henderson had received an exemption into the tour’s revamped major at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y. The LPGA allows six exemptions for non-members. Starts in the U.S. Women’s Open and Ricoh Women’s British Open do not count toward the six.
The exemption floodgates opened for Henderson after the Canadian star finished third at the Swinging Skirts Classic in San Francisco and then Monday-qualified the next week in Texas and led after two rounds.
