Erik Compton finished Sunday with a disappointing 77, but a story shared by CBS' Jim Nantz overshadowed anything related to Compton's final-round performance.
As Compton was putting on the 18th green, Nantz detailed that Compton, by chance this week, met a woman whose nephew ended up the donor for Compton's second heart transplant.
The woman happened to be Compton's waiter at a restaurant in Dublin and, after learning he was a two-time heart transplant recipient, told about her nephew who had died in a motorcycle accident eight years ago. Compton then asked for the nephew's name - and found out he already knew it.
