The first club-specific, GPS-enabled shot-tracking systems began appearing a few years ago, but with the release of the new ClubHub system, Kinetek Sports is trying to combine that technology with swing analysis. The goal is to not only show golfers where they hit the ball, but also teach them how the ball got there.
The ClubHub system consists of 14 sensors that screw into the grips of clubs. Each sensor pairs with ClubHub’s mobile smartphone app, a process that only needs to be completed once. After that, whenever a player takes a club out of the bag, the app recognizes and detects when the club is swung.
