ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – The European Tour has until the end of the year to try to hammer out a merger deal with the Asian Tour, said Keith Pelley, chief executive of the European Tour.
Pelley held discussions with interim Asian Tour chairman Kyi Hla Han during the EurAsia Cup in Kuala Lumpur last week. They also had a conference call during this week's Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
“Obviously a lot has changed since we signed our exclusive negotiation window,” Pelley conceded. “Their CEO Mike Kerr stepped down, and there is a change of the board.
