UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – As a writer of all things cockeyed, I have assigned myself the responsibility of compiling the Devil's Dictionary of Golf Yips. That's Yips, not Tips.
My collaborator in this project is English touring professional Jason Palmer, who several years ago decided to devote his career to something meaningful. Like understanding the yips more intimately than most.
Note to self: He succeeded.
Here at the 115th U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, every spectator should take advantage of the opportunity to root for Palmer, who earned a spot in this championship by shooting 69-68 in the international sectional qualifier at Walton Heath Golf Club in Surrey, England.
