China’s presence at UL International Crown signals bright future

GURNEE, Illinois – Shanshan Feng warned us all during the ANA Inspiration: “The Chinese are coming.”

The golf world will get a glimpse of that this week at the UL International Crown, where China is one of eight teams competing at the Merit Club. Feng became the first Chinese player to earn LPGA status in 2008; now there are six.

The fact that the Chinese qualified for this event in such a short amount of time is remarkable and should serve as a signal of what’s to come. The LPGA has two events in China on its schedule.
