Chicago's Merit Club to host International Crown

The Merit Club in Gurnee, Ill., will host the second edition of the UL International Crown, the LPGA announced Tuesday.

Opened in 1992, The Merit Club hosted the 2000 U.S. Women's Open, which was won by Karrie Webb. It will now serve as the venue for a match-play competition which pits eight countries against each other.

The tournament was originally slated for nearby Rich Harvest Farms, but the LPGA announced earlier this month that both parties mutually agreed to relocate the event. At the time of that announcement, LPGA officials indicated a desire to keep the biennial event in the Chicago area.
