ST. LEON-ROT, Germany – Well, it wasn’t quite as dramatic as the time Anna Nordqvist aced the 17th hole to win a match at the 2013 Solheim Cup. But it was still a first for England’s Charley Hull.
The precocious 19-year-old holed out with a 6-iron from 146 yards on the par-3 third hole at St. Leon-Rot Golf Club. She gave the ball a nice kiss for photographers as an amused Suzann Pettersen looked on.
This marks Hull’s second Solheim Cup appearance for Europe. She went 2-1-0 two years ago at Colorado Golf Club and defeated Paula Creamer handily in singles play.
