The co-owner of a California gas station/convenience store can be thankful that he keeps a golf club within reach for any unforeseen circumstances.

Kulwant Singh used a golf club Dec. 12 to fight off three teen suspects in what investigators called “a melee” in Roseland, Calif., according to The (Santa Rosa) Press Democrat, which cited the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators, a teen patron entered the store and began to stuff food inside of his large jacket. Singh told the teen to remove the food from his jacket and leave the store, but another teen entered and grabbed the merchant’s cellphone.
