CC of Charleston to host 2019 U.S. Women's Open

The USGA announced Tuesday that the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., will host the 2019 U.S. Women's Open.

The event will mark the club's first hosting of the Women's Open, and its second USGA championship. It also served as the venue for the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur, when Emma Talley defeated Cindy Yueer Feng in the final.

First opened in 1925, the Country Club of Charleston also played host to a PGA Tour event from 1933-1937. Its membership has included the likes of Henry Picard and Beth Daniel, both members of the World Golf Hall of Fame, as well as current PGA Tour player Russell Henley.
