Catriona Matthew followed up her opening round 67 with a second-round 69 to hold a share of the lead after the second round of the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open.
Matthew, 46, had one eagle, three birdies and two bogeys on Grange Golf Club's West Course.
“I think that’s the beauty of golf,” Matthew said. “You know you can play, it doesn’t matter what your age is really as long as you can still hit the golf ball and get it in the hole it doesn’t really matter. Age isn’t a barrier.”
In just the second start of her LPGA rookie season, Holly Clyburn used a 7-under 65 to move from a tie for 39th into a share of the lead Matthew.
