Roberto Castro posted a Saturday 3-under 68, good enough to open a two-shot lead at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship.
The 30-year-old posted a dismal 2014-15 PGA Tour season, finishing with one top-25 in 16 events on his way to a ghastly 188th in the FedEx Cup standings.
But after heating up with a T-9 at last week's Small Business Connection Championship, Castro is now in position to retain his Tour card with his top post in Columbus.
“I played nicely today,” Castro said. “This golf course is something else. I would love to know on three or four holes a day if there was a single birdie in the entire field.
