Carson Seals, of Ardmore, Okla., has committed to play for the men's golf team at Southern Illinois in 2016.
Seals visited several schools, including Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Baylor leading up to his decision.
"I knew when I met coach (Justin) Fetcho it was the right program for me," said Seals in an email. "I like the program coach Fetcho is building and know that I will be able to contribute and be a part of something very good for SIU."
Seals, the No. 446 player in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings, finished third at the AJGA Aaron's / Bob Estes Abilene Junior in 2014, led the Plainview High School golf team to the state championship in each of the past three years and recently finished 13th at the AJGA Lockton Kansas City Junior.
