Calvin Peete, a 12-time winner on the PGA Tour, died Wednesday. He was 71. Here are some of his career numbers, courtesy the Golf Channel research department:

  • 6 wins, 21 top-10s in 1982 & 1983 PGA TOUR seasons combined
  • 5 of his 12 PGA TOUR wins were by 5+ shots
  • 3 career top-5 finishes in majors
  • Finished T3 at 1982 PGA Championship (best major finish)
  • Shot 66 in final round of 1985 PLAYERS (T3rd-lowest by winner at TPC Sawgrass)

Since 1980, there are only 3 instances of a player leading the PGA TOUR in both driving accuracy AND greens in regulation.
