PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – No one attending the Northern Trust Open will confuse 36-hole leader Jason Kokrak with megawatt stars Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy. But Kokrak is hard to miss. The 30-year-old fifth-year-pro, who matched a season-low round with a 7-under 64 on Friday, stands 6 foot, 4 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He looks like he may have devoured a few double-double animal style burgers at In-n-Out since his last PGA Tour media guide weigh in. Let’s just say, his favorite movie is “Fight Club” and you wouldn’t want to rumble with him.
But the person here at Riviera Country Club who knows him best remembers Kokrak as a short, skinny kid growing up.
