Sunday wasn't the first time Bubba Watson talked about retirement but it was a repeat of a strange phenomenon: The two-time Masters champion talking about calling it quits after a win.
The 37-year-old first said last year after his victory at the WGC-HSBC Champions, his seventh win, that he would call it quits once he earned victory No. 10.
Well, the Hero World Challenge was his ninth career win. So on this occasion, Watson felt it necessary to amend that statement.
“Ten U.S. victories,” he explained. “I don’t count this as a PGA Tour victory.
