Bubba Watson replaces Day for Hero World Challenge event

Bubba Watson will add a late event to his schedule, as he has accepted an invitation to play in the Hero World Challenge from Dec. 3-6.

The long-hitting lefty will replace Jason Day, who withdrew to spend more time with his family after the birth of his second child, Lucy. With Day's late scratch, the Aussie's return to competition for the first time since the Presidents Cup is now earmarked for the Franklin Templeton Shootout in Naples, Fla., from Dec. 9-12.

The Hero World Challenge will be competed Albany in The Bahamas. Watson has played just one event since the Presidents Cup but has a plethora of experience in this event, including a top-three finish in 2013.
