Brooke Henderson’s path to LPGA remains clear: Just win

RYE, N.Y. – Brooke Henderson didn’t even realize the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship was her first major start as a professional until she read it on Twitter. The 17-year-old Canadian has competed in so many recent LPGA events that it feels like she’s already a tour member.

But she’s not, and there’s a sense of urgency in Camp Henderson to do something special. Henderson opened the year’s second major championship with a 6-under 67 on June 11 at Westchester Country Club. She three-putted her final hole to finish one shot back of Jenny Shin. It was an otherwise beautiful round from the poised and powerful player.
