PORTLAND, Ore. – Now that Brooke Henderson, 17, has won on the LPGA, she can look back on LPGA commissioner Mike Whan’s decision to keep her out of last year’s LPGA Q-School as a good thing.
“You know, I think honestly it was the best thing that could have happened to me,” said Henderson. “It made me work really hard and be really dedicated and really focused. It made me really realize what I really wanted in life and what I really desired.”
Henderson pounded the field at the Cambia Portland Classic, setting a tournament scoring record at 21-under 267.
