WOBURN, England –– Mr. Ryder Cup was nervous for the opening round of the £3 million British Masters at Woburn Golf Club. Two Ryder Cup hopefuls were trying their best not to think about the match in a year’s time at Hazeltine.
It wasn’t easy – Marc Warren and Andy Sullivan played with European captain Darren Clarke.
Ian Poulter is hosting this week’s soiree at the club he’s represented since 2002. Despite weeks and months of preparation, Poulter was worried something would go wrong with the party.
“I didn’t know what to expect coming into the week,” Poulter said.
