Brandt Snedeker, the leader in the FedEx Cup standings, has withdrawn from the WGC-Cadillac Championship.
The World No. 16 exited Doral before the second round on Friday, citing a rib injury for his departure. Snedeker had opened in 4-over 76 at Trump National Doral.
The 35-year-old has struggled with rib injuries over the last several years and was diagnosed in 2013 with low bone turnover – essentially, an anomaly in Snedeker's DNA makes his ribs far more brittle than the rest of his bones.
Golf Channel's Todd Lewis reported the news of the injury.
