PALM CITY, Fla. –– Two weeks ago, Alan de Bondt’s girlfriend Ines Vangeersdaele changed travel plans. Instead taking a morning flight to Houston out of Brussels on March 22, she decided it would be easier to depart from Amsterdam.
The decision might have saved her life. Reports say least 31 people were killed and nearly 190 wounded in two terrorist attacks Tuesday morning in Brussels, one in a subway station and the other at the Brussels Airport.
“Flights to Houston always leave around 9 in the morning, so that would’ve been right then,” de Bondt said. “I can’t imagine.
