Belen Mozo withdraws from LPGA Q-School with strained neck

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Belen Mozo withdrew from the final stage of LPGA Q-School midway through the third round due to tightness in her neck. She shot 73-71 to open the tournament.

“I strained my neck walking to the first tee,” said Mozo. “I was healthy and strong but just made a bad move that tweaked my neck. The competitor in me wanted to finish, but I wasn’t able to.”

But why was Mozo at Q-School in the first place?

The fiery Spaniard had surgery on her nose for a deviated septum after The Evian Championship in September.
