Baylor is working on a title defense at the National Collegiate Club Golf Association Spring Championship. The Bears won the spring national championship in 2014, and need a solid second round on Sunday to repeat.
Baylor posted a 9-over 369 team score in the play-eight-count-five format on Saturday at Bryan Park Golf Course in Browns Summit, N.C. That gave the team a two-shot lead on Florida.
The Baylor effort was led by a round of 1-under 71 from Dave Pytel. That left him in a five-way tie for the individual lead. Baylor’s Sam Hall, the club team’s president, contributed a 72.
