Adam Ball fired a tournament-low 8-under 62 in the final round of the Monroe Invitational, surging into first place for the victory.
Ball, a rising senior at Virginia Commonwealth, beat out the week's scoring average at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, N.Y., by 10 shots Saturday, taking a two-shot win over Derek Bard of Virginia and Beau Titsworth of Oklahoma.
Ball, a 20-year-old out of Richmond, Va., made six birdies and an eagle during his final round, including a 5-under stretch from No. 8 to 12. He is the No. 89 player in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
