AUGUSTA, Ga. – Officials at Augusta National closed the golf course just before noon on Monday as a line of thunderstorms closed in on the area.
Some players had already cut short their Monday practice schedules to avoid the storms, including world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, but the forecast called for an increasing chance of showers and the possibility of lightning in the afternoon.
Tuesday forecast improves dramatically, but another storm is predicted for Wednesday, with a 100 percent chance of thunderstorms.
