Auburn rising sophomore Ben Schlottman fired a bogey-free 64 in the second round of the Palmetto Amateur, taking a one-stroke lead at the midway point of the event.
Schlottman, of Advance, N.C., made six birdies on his day, reaching 7 under for the week and taking a slight lead over Austin Langdale, who carded a 68 Thursday at Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C.
Schlottman, the No. 40 player in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, became the first freshman in Auburn history to earn All-SEC first team honors.
Billy Kennerly sits two strokes off Schlottman's mark at 5 under, and Anthony Quayle is three shots back after following an opening 65 with a 71 on Thursday.
