As PGA Tour season nears end, FedEx points present little worry

If there’s one thing you’re not feeling with some marquee names, it’s a sense of urgency regarding their FedEx Cup standing.

Of the top 40 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, two of them are miles outside the current playoff picture (Victor Dubuisson sits in 203rd position, Martin Kaymer in 163rd), while two others are hanging precariously just inside the top 125 (Lee Westwood at 108, Jamie Donaldson at 120), which is the cutoff for the first of the four post-season events, the Aug. 27-30 Barclays. A fifth name, Adam Scott, is laboring at 82nd, certainly a lock to make the playoffs, though dearly in need of a big push forward.
