Sung Hyun Park is poised to try to join the ranks of Korean stars winning major championships as LPGA non-members.
She’s looking to become the third KLPGA member to win a major over the last three seasons.
Park, the top player on the Korean tour this year with seven victories, shot an 8-under-par 63 Thursday to join fellow countrywoman In Gee Chun as co-leaders of the Evian Championship. Chun won the U.S. Women’s Open as a non-member last year and Hyo Joo Kim won Evian as a non-member in 2014.
Like Chun, Park didn’t make a bogey in her round Thursday.
