PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) -- Andy Mickelson holed out for eagle from 78 yards on the par-4 eighth hole and finished with a 7-under 65 on Friday to take the second-round lead in the PGA Assistant Championship.
Mickelson is the director of golf at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville, Illinois. He had an 11-under 133 total on PGA Golf Club's Wanamaker Course, the second-lowest two-day score in the history of the event.
Tommy Gibson of Homestead, Florida; Richard Terga of West Palm Beach, Florida; and Michael Valicenti of Jupiter, Florida, were tied for second at 8 under.
