American rookie John Michael O’Toole traveled halfway around the world for his first professional victory.
O’Toole, playing in only his fourth event on the Asian Developmental Tour, shot 1-under 70 Saturday at Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort in Perak, Malaysia, for a 15-under 269 total and two-stroke victory in the PGM Clearwater Masters.
“This is my first win since turning professional in 2015,” said O’Toole, 22, a Cincinnati alumnus from Pinson, Ala., in an ADT news release. "I am really thankful. I fought well the whole week, and I have been talking to my mentor Iain Steel (a former ADT winner) every night.
