KAPALUA, Hawaii (AP) -- Robert Allenby is returning to the Sony Open and hopes to put behind him a bizarre incident that marred last season.
Allenby still doesn't know what happened the night after he missed the cut. He originally said he was robbed, beaten and dumped in a park. The story gained traction because of a photo of his bloodied forehead.
He later said he was repeating what homeless people told him in the park where he was found. A man charged with using his credit cards was sentenced in August to five years.
