Alison Lee sidelined by food poisoning at Solheim Cup

ST. LEON-ROT, Germany – Can’t think of a worse way for Alison Lee to begin her Solheim Cup career. The American rookie came down with food poisoning on Tuesday night and was taken out of Juli Inkster’s Friday morning lineup. Worst-case scenario: The Americans must forfeit a point during Sunday singles should Lee be unable to play.

It’s a big blow to the Americans, who are looking to avoid a record third consecutive Solheim Cup loss. Lee skipped Thursday night’s gala as well as Friday’s rainy practice session. She did manage to make it to the opening ceremony.
