INVERNESS, Scotland – Chalk up a fifth European Tour win for Sweden’s Alex Noren. The former Oklahoma State player won the $4.2 million Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open to head into this week’s British Open as the man in form.
Noren returned a closing 2-under-par 70 for a 14-under-par total of 274 to win by a shot over England’s Tyrell Hatton. Noren picked up a check for $715,240. Hatton won $476,831.
Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts, Danny Lee of New Zealand and Italian Matteo Manassero finished tied for third on 12-under-par.
“I was so nervous today,” Noren admitted.
