Alabama may very well be on its way to a wire-to-wire win for the first time this season.
The No. 7 Crimson Tide opened a two-shot lead on Day One at the Puerto Rico Classic, but while that cushion was cut in half on Monday, Alabama still retains control.
Thanks to Jonathan Hardee's and Robby Shelton's second-day 2-under 70s, Alabama posted a 1-under 287 to move to 13 under. Sixteenth-ranked Georgia moved up from fifth to T-2 with an 8-under second-day score at the Rio Mar River Course.
Hardee still holds the individual lead by one at 7 under, with Shelton three behind in a tie for eighth.
