After stressful starts to season, Park and Ryu hope to start anew in Thailand

It has been a stressful start to the LPGA season for Inbee Park. Citing a back injury, she withdrew from the season-opening Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic on Jan. 28 after carding a 7-over 80 in the first round. Then her father-in-law died.

Park begins her season anew this week at the Honda LPGA Thailand, an event that she won in 2013.

“You realize a lot of things in life when those big things kind of happen,” Park said. “Golf is just not everything in my life, you know. I've learned a lot of things, going through the sad moments and tough moments, and everything happens for a reason.
