Acushnet president and CEO Wally Uihlein has announced his retirement effective Jan. 1, 2018.
The announcement, which was made public on Monday, ends a 22-year reign for Uihlein as Acushnet's top golf executive. The company is known for manufacturing Titleist golf balls and clubs but it also includes FootJoy apparel and Scotty Cameron putters. Uihlein started with the compnay in 1976 and will remain on the board of directors as an advisor to Acushnet chairman Gene Yoon.
"We want to than Wally Uihlein for his 40-plus years with Acushnet and the terrific leadership he has provided during this time," Yoon said in a statement.
