52-year-old Singh (63) could become oldest Tour winner

Perhaps the PGA Tour isn't being entirely taken over by the next generation.

More than seven years after his last Tour victory, Vijay Singh turned back the clock with a 7-under 63 in the opening round of the Sony Open in Hawaii. The effort gave the Fijian a share of the early lead, and it put him in contention to perhaps become the oldest winner in PGA Tour history.

Singh will be 52 years, 10 months and 26 days old during Sunday's final round at Waialae Country Club - 18 days older than Sam Snead was when he won the 1965 Greater Greensboro Open.
