The PGA of America is moving on from President Trump, announcing Sunday in a statement that it will relocate the 2022 PGA Championship scheduled for the New York suburbs at Trump National Golf Club Bedminister.
The venue was awarded the tournament in 2012 and was to be the first men's major championship contested at one of Trump's golf properties.
"The PGA of America Board of Directors voted tonight to exercise the right to terminate the agreement to play the 2022 PGA Championship at Trump Bedminster,'' said Jim Richerson, president of the PGA of America.
The organization did not announce any financial repercussions or a replacement course, but several venues have already been mentioned, including past PGA sites Bethpage Black, Southern Hills and Valhalla.
