2017 Masters: Sergio García Shares Lead After Scoring Mishap

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Eleven holes into his round at the Masters on Friday, the first-round leader Charley Hoffman seemed to be going to pieces. The precision putting he displayed a day earlier while shooting 65 had abandoned him. Hoffman was four-over par and Sergio García, who started the day six strokes off the lead, had rallied to tie him.

But on a second straight blustery day at the Masters, unpredictability was in the air.

Hoffman steadied himself to play one-under over his final seven holes to post a three-over-par 75, which sent him to the clubhouse tied for the lead with García — but with most of the field still on the course for the second round.
