2016 World Cup of Golf to be hosted by Australia's Kingston Heath

The 2016 World Cup of Golf will be played in Australia in November, just not at the layout that appeared the frontrunner.

Kingston Heath Golf Club will host this year's World Cup, an annual two-man team event. The course, which is in the Sandbelt region, has hosted several national championships, including seven Australian Opens and two Australian Masters. The winners' role call at Kingston Heath includes Tiger Woods, Gary Player, Greg Norman and Adam Scott.

The Melbourne layout is a surprise host of the World Cup of Golf, though. Officials announced in October that the 2016 event would take place in Melbourne.
