Lucas Bjerregaard opened the 100th running of the Open de France tournament with a round of five-under on Thursday, taking a one-shot lead over several players into the second day of competition.
Bernd Wiesberger, Thomas Pieters, Adrian Otaegui and Thongchai Jaidee all finished the day four-under, while Rory McIlroy struggled, shooting par. Spain's Otaegui was the only man to card a bogey-free round.
